Murder accused is charged with theft

The woman accused of murdering Leven pensioner Mary Logie last month has made a second appearance in private at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, where she faced charges including theft.

Sandra Weir, of Green Gates in Leven, appeared on Thursday and was charged with theft, theft by opening a lockfast place, and murder.

She was also charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Weir (40) made no plea or declaration and the case was fully committed.

She was again remanded in custody, having been remanded after her first appearance on a murder charge a week earlier.

A Crown Office spokesman said the date of her next court appearance was still to be confirmed.
