Hide AdSheriff Simon Collins jailed Deary for five-and-a-half months and placed him on the sex offenders’ register for seven years.
Fiscal depute John Adams told Dundee Sheriff Court the two assaults took place between June 1989 and June 1990 at the Boys Brigade Hall in St Andrews’ Langlands Road and at a nearby house.
The boy didn’t tell anyone of the incidents until 2014, when a separate allegation was made against Deary.
Deary (46) of Main Street, Guardbridge, admitted two charges of sexual assault.
His not guilty pleas to three further offences were accepted by the Crown.
