New Lib Dem leader chosen in Fife

TAY Bridghead councillor Tim Brett has been elected as the new leader of the Liberal Democrat group on Fife Council.

He succeeds Councillor Elizabeth Riches who had led the group for the last 10 years and had been deputy leader of the administration for the last five years.

Councillor Brett said: “We are looking forward to serving the people of Fife over the next five years.

“We have an experienced and talented group of councillors, a number of whom have held senior positions in the council.

“We are proud of our record of achievement in the last administration where progress was made in many areas and in particular are handing on the council in a strong financial position.”

Burntisland and Kinghorn councillor Susan Leslie was elected as deputy leader.
