New look for Kirkcaldy shops
The run down appearance of the shops is set to be a thing of the past once structural and cosmetic work to replace the columns and repair the canopy outside the row of shop units is complete.
Councillor Neil Crooks, chairman of the committee, said he is delighted that work has begun.

“We started on this journey around seven years ago and there were several obstacles along the way that made it feel like it might never happen.
“Difficulties aside though, we had great support from various Council officers who really went the extra mile to help build a solid business case for investment.
“It’s thanks to the ideas of local people, and their involvement in shaping these proposals and plans, that we’ve got a programme of works that doesn’t just focus on building maintenance but will improve the surrounding area for everyone.”

“Seating, shrub beds and new parking bays will also be added to the area to help provide a pleasant environment for people to enjoy and hopefully help increase footfall to the shops.”
