North East Fife’s SNP MSP, Roderick Campbell, has paid a visit to the brand new mobile branch being rolled out by the Royal Bank of Scotland in Crail, Elie and Newburgh.
In response to demand from local communities, and pressure from Mr Campbell and SMP MP Stephen Gethins, following confirmation earlier this year that the RBS Branches in these communities would close, the Bank has introduced the new service last Monday.
The RBS previously confirmed that the cash machines in the three communities would be retained after concerns were raised that they would be removed.
Mr Campbell said:“I am very pleased that the RBS has listened to the local communities and is providing this new, mobile service.
“Local banking services are crucial for small communities such as Crail and Elie and are particularly vital for older people or those unable to use online and mobile banking.
“The strength of feeling within the local communities was crucial to ensuring this new service was introduced.”
