Oh it’s ladies’ night ...

Mums from Methilhill have lived up to their promise to resurrect the popular children and community gala day for 2016.

The enthusiastic group has taken on the mammoth task to raise essential funds to secure the success of the day and a host of events have been organised to get everyone into the spirit of community fundraising.

A laugh-a-minute ladies night will be held at Expressions Dance Hall on November 28 starting at 7.30pm with dancing due to continue on into the night.

Adding a raunchy treat to the night will be some naked butlers, Ann Summers party fun and a wealth of other fun activities.

Tickets are available priced £10.

Committee member Sarah Baker said: “This is going to be a fantastic night but we still need raffle prizes and the backing of as many local businesses as possible.”

The committee has also planned a more family friendly Christmas fayre on December 12 in the Methilhill OAP Hall.

Sarah said: “We are going to have a very special visitor on the day, who will be in his grotto for a while to meet the boys and girls.

“He is very busy at this time of year but has graciously agreed to come along for us as he too feels the Methilhill community needs it’s gala day back.”

To make the final day extra special committee member Fay MacDonald Ali is attempting to make bunting with the help of donated curtains, clothes etc.

She said: “I would love it to be sourced and up-cycled from local materials to give it a proper community feel.” Contact Fay through the Facebook group to donate.

Sarah finished: “We are also very grateful to the Rotary Club in Leven who responded to our last plea for help in the East Fife Mail and would encourage anyone who can help, to contact us through Facebook - Methilhill Children & Community Gala.”

The children from Methilhill primary school will take centre stage at the gala, with the crowning of the Lad and Lass of the year.

The team are working hard to raise awareness of the event as well as funds and invite anyone who would like to come to their next meeting on November 9, to do so.
