I am not very keen on Renee Zellweger as an actress, in fact I don’t really like her in anything apart from ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’.

But I thought she was fab in the role as thirty-something Bridget Jones who is fed up being single and overweight.

The film explores a year in the life of the main character and the trials and tribulations she endures in a colourful 12 months.

The movie starts off with Bridget’s mum trying to set her up with straight-laced lawyer Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) who Bridget takes a dislike to after overhearing him making unkind remarks about her, before she later embarks on a fun but disastrous relationship with Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant).

There are fantastic comedy moments in this as we watch Bridget make a complete fool of herself on more than one occasion.

This film is ideal for Sunday afternoon viewing as it’s not only humorous but very light-hearted. I would highly recommend.
