Festive treats and new year ambitions

I can't believe we are into a new year.

I think my body is still trying to recover from eating too many chocolates and rich food over the festive season.

In some ways it feels like it wasn’t that long ago I was putting my tree up and now it’s down again!

I am slowly working my way through all the festive treats – however I am thinking the quicker I eat them, the quicker they will be gone!

One of my New Year resolutions is to lose the pounds I gained over Christmas and then a little bit more.

I say this every year though! But with new gym gear bought I am ready to work hard in preparation for my summer holiday.

One of the things I enjoy about the festive season (apart from eating a lot) is watching good films and documentaries on television.

This year I watched one movie that I haven’t seen for years – Harry and the Hendersons.

It is basically about George and Nancy Henderson and their two children who accidentally run over a Bigfoot with their car and end up bringing him home with them.

Chaos ensues, but he soon becomes part of the family. I used to love watching this film when I was younger and it was just as funny as I remembered.

I also liked ‘Ant-Man’ – which is based on one of the Marvel characters. I thought Paul Rudd was really good in the lead role.

I also enjoyed watching a documentary charting 40 years of the Prince’s Trust which saw presenting duo Ant and Dec interviewing Prince Charles and his sons.

It is one of the best interviews I have seen with Princes William and Harry – they were both very relaxed.

am working my way through a few programmes I recorded over Christmas and New Year which will keep me busy this week.

I also have a couple of birthdays this month so have been getting organised with presents and cards.
