I wasn’t sure how a film about turkeys trying to change the course of history would go down with my children but given that they had no struggle with the concept of time travel in ‘Back to the Future’ the weekend before I thought we’d give this a go.
After years of warning his farmyard brethren of the forthcoming Thanksgiving Day doom, Reggie the Turkey finds himself being spared when the President’s daughter takes a shine to him.
However, Reggie’s lovely new life as the ‘Pardoned Turkey’ is disrupted by Jake, a fanatic turkey, who makes it his mission to go back in time to make sure turkeys are not part of the first Thanksgiving.
As the result of some crazy moves the pair manage to take an experimental time machine back to the Plymouth colony of 1621 where they find themselves in the middle of a turkey clan’s struggle for survival.
In doing so, their preconceptions of the world and themselves are challenged forever in a conflict from which the world will never be the same.
