This week I must take my hat off to all parents.
We had friends visiting at the weekend with their two young children - one is two and the other five - and after just a couple of days with them I’m absolutely exhausted.
Don’t get me wrong, I had a great time and it was lovely to be able to see them all, but I have absolutely no idea how mums and dads and those looking after youngsters can keep going day in, day out.
The weekend lie-in was definitely out of the question with the wake up call coming at 7.00 a.m. sharp.
And with the days filled with activity and fun, by the time it came to bedtime I was once again shattered.
So guess what I intend to do this weekend... that’s right, catch up on some sleep!
Cinema rip-off: Thank goodness for that Meercat Movies deal that an online comparison website is currently offering for those buying insurance through them.
I almost keeled over on a trip to the cinema this week when I realised just how expensive the tickets have become.
I already appreciated that a trip to see a film on the big screen was expensive, but it’s been a while since I’ve been to the cinema and I hadn’t realised exactly how much the tickets were just by themselves before you look at the popcorn and a drink.
£9.80 for one ticket! If it wasn’t for the Meercat Movies deal then I wouldn’t be going back anytime soon.
Instead I would be waiting until the DVD came out or the film was available on Netflix.
Surely if cinemas were to reduce their prices they would get more people through the doors and the need for such a high price would be gone?
