Well despite my best efforts to avoid the World Cup I have found myself tuning in to the odd game. I am not the biggest football fan but I have to admit there is something exciting about the World Cup. I had been quite excited initially to take part in the office sweepstake as I had hoped I would have Brazil or Spain selected as my team. So you can imagine my disappointment then when I was told I had Croatia. But you never know maybe there will be a miracle and they will suddenly emerge as one of the favourites, but then again maybe not! Brazil looks amazing from what I have seen from the coverage so far. The beaches are stunning and the fact that the weather is good out there at the moment makes it very tempting to board a plane ...

Wedding excitement: One of my closest friends is making the final preparations for her wedding which takes place at the end of this month. I am really looking forward to helping her celebrate her special day. I have my dress picked and shoes bought, now all I need to do is sort out my jewellery. I just hope the weather improves and the sun comes out as that will just make the day perfect.

Holiday time: Just a few weeks to go and I will be off for my annual summer vacation. All I have to do now is decide how to spend my time off. I don’t have plans to go abroad so it will be a case of finding things to do at home. There are always places to go locally. I will probably spend some of the time in Edinburgh taking in the sights and sounds of the city as well as taking a trip along the coast and meeting friends for lunch. I also need to have a proper clear out too and this might be the ideal time to do it. The weekends always go far too fast so it will be good just to have some time to relax and catch up with everything. I just hope the weather will be nice with plenty of warm sunshine.

This week ... finally watched ‘Broadchurch’ which was fantastic, met up with friends and planned a night out
