Christmas dinner: I am looking forward to tucking into my Christmas dinner, prepared very well by my mum and dad. It is the only day that I usually have turkey as I am not a huge fan. But I have to say it would not be Christmas without it. You can’t beat turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, roast potatoes, brussel sprouts and carrots - it’s a feast! I do enjoy Christmas Day from the opening of presents right through to snoozing in front of the television later on. It’s the one day where you can eat and drink as much as you want without feeling guilty! I don’t know why I can normally keep eating that day when I know my limit any other day of the year! I like listening to some Christmas CDs on December 25 as well as watching festive films and the Queen’s Speech. I have not say I am not a Royalist in any shape or form but I do like to watch the Queen’s annual festive message on Christmas Day - just to see if she smiles at the end of it!
Wrapping done: This is probably the first year I have had all my Christmas presents bought and wrapped before Christmas Eve. Usually I wait until two or three days before December 25 before I start wrapping but this year I was organised. There always seems to be lots of to do in the run-up to Christmas so I am glad I did it early. The other reason I am glad I bought all my gifts early is avoiding the last minute rush. There is nothing worse than trying to buy things when shops are heaving and queues are the length of the store. I would much rather get most of my presents bought early when the shops aren’t busy because it just isn’t a pleasurable experience.
Here’s to 2013: I still haven’t decided what I am doing on Hogmanay yet. I am not a big fan of New Year so it will either be spent going out with friends or it will be having a quiet drink with family. I always find New Year to be an anti-climax and depressing. I still can’t believe 2012 is nearly over and we will soon be into 2013!
This week ...I enjoyed my first snowball drink, watched The Muppets Christmas Carol and planned a night out in January
