2012 was drawing to a close as I wrote this and we were just back from seeing ‘The Hobbit’ in 3D.

I have to confess this type of film would not be my first choice to watch, but these are some of the sacrifices that we make for love!

The 3D specs added a bit of fun to the proceedings, as I would remove them from time to time to marvel at the difference with and without them!

Without them, the movie was slightly blurred and would have spoiled the whole experience of having to watch the entire film without the specs.

With them, it was very exciting, really bringing the story to life and managing to hold my attention for the almost three hours that the film lasted.

This experience reminds me of my life prior to, and since, becoming a Christian.

In order to see life as God really wants us to see it requires not 3D specs, but rather spiritual specs, along with a simple faith that God really exists.

In the bible it says: “Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Heb 11: 6).

Like any Christian, my life has been transformed since asking Jesus to be my Saviour 15 years ago.

Now, with my spiritual specs on, I could never consider going back to the ways things used to be prior to meeting Jesus Christ.

There is no experience like it, and unlike ‘The Hobbit’, Christianity is fact, not fiction.

If you are willing to take God at His Word, receive Jesus as your Saviour, ask for and receive forgiveness for your sins, then God will be pleased to accept you into His worldwide family, now and forever.

Are you willing to put on your spiritual specs?

If you do, it will lead to a wonderful journey of transformation. All you have to do is believe and accept Jesus for who He really is.

Acts 2: 38 – “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
