7 buildings in Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes locals want to see levelled

We put a shout out online asking locals to come forward and nominate the Kingdom’s eyesores – the buildings they’d happily see the back off, and which have blighted the landscape for years. In some cases, decades ...

It’s safe to say they didn’t hold back.

From the abandoned boat sheds to grim, grey office blocks., they gave us a gallery of buildings which have generated little love.

Believe it or not, this is a Category-B listed building! Shame it has sat unused and forgotten since a fire 21 years ago. So many ideas have been mooted which would transform its unique setting at the entrance to the harbour.

A surprise choice given the art deco features of the building, but it is in dire need of some TLC. With Burton and Dorothy Perkins gone, it does have a promising future - it has been bought, and is scheduled to be turned into a pub.
