Amazon's £2000 donation to Fife children's charity

A Fife children’s charity has received a donation of £2,000 from Amazon fulfilment centre in Dunfermline.

Staff and volunteers at Barnardo’s Scotland’s Stronger Families Service in Kirkcaldy, received £1000 cash plus books and toys worth £1000 from the Amazon team to help increase the reach of its services.

The service supports families with children aged up to 12.

It works with families at risk of breakdown, struggling with behavioural issues, or have been affected by a crisis related to substance abuse or mental health.

The donation is part of a longstanding relationship between the two.

At the start of the pandemic, Amazon donated £10,000 to Barnardo’s to help the charity during the early stages of lockdown.

Jamie Strain, site leader at Amazon Dunfermline, said: “The team at Amazon is passionate about supporting the young people in our community, and jumped at the chance to make this donation.

“Its work is needed now more than ever.”
