Cllr John O’Brien shared pictures of ground at Mountfleurie park ripped up after being used by quad bike riders.

He said: “Levenmouth councillors have united to put a stop to public nuisance with off road motor bikes and quads bikes. There’s a place for everything but not public parks and roads.

“We authorised the police to take action on all illegal vehicles in the Levenmouth areas.”

Levenmouth has taken a unique approach to tackling the issue of illegal off road motor bike and quad bike use in the area.

The Improving Levenmouth Together Project has seen Police Scotland and Fife Council funding two officers dedicated to working on the problem.

Last year, 38 vehicles were siezed, 306 people were charged with anti-social behaviour and road traffic offences, 20 anti-social behaviour warnings were issued, and two warrants were executed in relation to stolen bikes, all as part of the project.
