Body found in search for missing Fife man

Police searching for a missing man Fife have found a body.

The discovery was made on the outskirts of Perth.

Fife Police said it had not been formally identified, but that the family of missing Glenrothes man, Steven Squire, have been informed.

He was last seen on early on Sunday evening, but, in appeal for help, police said he was believed to have been spotted in the Broxden area of Perth around 6:30pm on Wednesday. They said he may have left the area on foot.

Fife is hotspot for reports of animals in need

Late this afternoon the Fife division tweeted: “We can confirm that the body of a man has been found in the outskirts of Perth. The body has not yet been formally identified.

“However, the family of Steven Squire, 33, who had been reported missing from the Glenrothes area on Tuesday, 1 September has been made aware.”
