He was one of ten Fifers included in the 2020 birthday honours, announced this evening.

Mr Briggs said he was delighted and surprised, and added: “A lot of people in the company are involved in, and do so much to help organisations such as the Cottage, so I am delighted to accept on behalf of them.”

Briggs Marine has been a long standing support of the Cottage, and it has also helped a range of groups from Burntisland Primary School to Rachel House, the Kinross base of CHAS.

The family owned business has over 40 years experience in coastal, nearshore and offshore operations.
