Danny Allardyce and Terence Thornber, both from Leven, died on Friday after their car hit the corner of a building on Windygates Road.

Hundreds of tributes have been paid to the pair, and a candlelit vigil was held on Leven beach at the weekend to allow people who knew them to pay their respects.

The pair are also due to be given a ‘proper send off’ thanks to the generosity of the local community.

Meanwhile, a fundraising page set up to help cover the costs of the two funerals has passed its £8000 target, with donators pledging more than £9200, at the time of writing, which will be split between the two families.

Danny (29), a former Buckhaven High School pupil, and Terence (27), who attended Kirkland High School, were both well known in the town.

Among those who paid tribute to Danny was his older brother, Jack.

“He was such a cute and mischievous little boy who grew up into the kindest, most loving, funniest and most wonderful young man.

“He was a credit to my parents and a great source of pride for our whole family.

“While we knew he was so well known, the outpouring of love from the local community has been overwhelming.

“We take great comfort in the knowledge that he impacted so many people, that so many friends are sharing our sense of loss and will keep his memory alive.

“He has left such a huge hole in our lives, and we will never forget him.”

Danny worked at Agenda, which was closed over the weekend as a mark of respect, while Terence was a chef at the Peat Inn.

Sergeant Nicola Young, from Fife’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thought’s remain with the family and friends of Daniel and Terrence at this very difficult time.

“Enquiries into the crash are ongoing and I would like to thank everyone who has assisted with these. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
