Yvonne Shivas, coordinator with Totally Locally Burntisland said: “It is amazing news that Burntisland has been chosen to feature in Visa’s national campaign that will be highlighting two local business, Tom Courts Butcher and Grain and Sustain.

"It has all come about after Visa sponsored Fiver Fest, we started talking to them and they realised that we are a town that is working well and thriving.

"There is a whole range of shops and several different cafes for people to visit, free parking as well as the nearby beach for shoppers to take their children.

"A lot of people were really quite concerned when everything shut through lockdown, but now as things ease people are returning to the High Street and not only locals but people who have travelled to shop here – when we get back to normal we will see a real boom.”

Yvonne attributes Burntisland’s High Street success to businesses and owners working together rather than competing against each other.

"There is nothing magical about Totally Locally,” she adds. “We are like a glue that holds everyone together, and there is nothing anyone has to do apart from cooperate to make it work.

"A lot of the businesses in the town are part of a message group where everyone actively supports each other, and it is also a forum where we can offer advice.
