Community hub set to cut ribbon on expanded High Street base
A key community facility in Leven will officially unveil its expanded premises this month.
Local charity BRAG will formally open Pop Down @ The Hub at its Together Levenmouth Hub in the High Street on Friday, April 24.
Community champion Peter Wright, who has worked tirelessly to keep local streets litter free whilst proudly wearing his kilt, will cut the ribbon to mark the latest development of the High Street facility.
The innovative Together Levenmouth Hub was established by BRAG in 2021 to help regenerate the town’s High Street. It transformed two long vacant retail units into a vibrant community space offering a welcoming café, escape rooms and crazy golf.

It was then hit by an 11-month closure following the devastating fire which destroyed the Poundstretchers shop next door, opening again late in 2022 with a renewed focus on community needs and its services have since evolved based on the community’s own needs. The escape rooms were replaced by essential office space for the BRAG community and employability team in early 2024, and the crazy golf area reduced to allow for expanded café seating and its dedicated community space – Pop Up @ The Hub.
Today, the hub thrives as a community focal point, hosting themed events, regular activities and the dedicated multipurpose space is used for a variety of events including community banking, support groups, community consultation and art exhibitions. For some it’s just a friendly place to meet friends and have a coffee and a chat
Due to its popularity, and growing demand from local groups for accessible space beyond café opening hours, BRAG began a further redevelopment of the hub in early 2025 with vital funding coming from the Levenmouth Reconnected Fund and Garfield Weston along with loan funding from Bank of Scotland.
The redevelopment has transformed former stockrooms and staff areas beneath the hub into flexible new facilities for community groups and local businesses. The new Pop Down @ The Hub space has its own dedicated entrance, allowing evening and weekend access and significantly increasing opportunities for community use.

The new facilities include a large event space called The Links, a quiet room which has been named The Glen Room and the BawBee which is a new specialist sensory room. All names and themes were chosen by the community, reflecting BRAG’s ongoing commitment to shaping services around local needs .
Brian Robertson-Fern, managing director at BRAG, said: “We made a long-term commitment to the Levenmouth area back in 2017. Our first venture was the Levenmouth Community Enterprise Centre in Methil, and this was joined by the Together Hub in 2021.
“It had always been our intention to do something in the basement space and this next stage of works has been three years in the planning so it’s fantastic to see this new facility together.
“We cannot wait to see it being used as intended, and I must pay credit to everyone that helped make it happen. BRAG is very much focused on community wealth building, and this new space will provide additional opportunities for local groups and people to get involved in events and activities that bring benefits for all whilst also supporting the aim of bringing much needed footfall to our high street”
Peter will cut the ribbon at midday. Afterwards, invited guests will have the opportunity to tour the new spaces, while local stakeholders and community groups will be on hand to showcase their services and activities.
