The centre, in the grounds of the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, is almost entirely funded by donations.
Now, generous Fifers have got its appeal off to the best possible started with £1200 banked in just one day.
The centre’s target is to hit £10,000.
Alison Allan, centre head, was delighted with the instant response.

“It is very much appreciated and will help us support people with cancer and their friends and family now, when they need us more than ever.
“We know it is a difficult time for everyone, so are really grateful for people doing what they can.”
Maggie’s Fife launched the appeal to ensure its vital support for people living with cancer continued through, and beyond, the lockdown.

And with people coping with cancer in isolation, and following social distancing guidelines, the need for its support is greater than ever.
Alison said: “People’s cancer doesn’t just stop because of Coronavirus.
“We want to be here for those people because they need us more than ever during this emergency and beyond.”
