Open Studios North Fife, which will take place between October 10-12, was due to take place online and in person, with Fifers being able to see inside artists’ studios on the web and by visiting.

However, the new restrictions mean that the in-person element of the event has had to be cancelled.

It will showcase a huge range of skilled practitioners, including nationally and internationally recognised award-winning artists, designers and makers, alongside some talented emerging artists.

The unique and widely celebrated character of the event is the focus on displaying the working practice and creative processes of the participants.

You can see how ironwork is crafted in a forge, how paintings are built up from sketches, and how jewellery, glasswork, pottery and wood is fashioned into beautiful artwork.

Participating studios are spread around the villages and towns of north east Fife.

A spokesperson for the event organisers said: “Since we are now in a much more restricted position with lockdown we will sadly no longer be able to welcome you to our homes.

“We would still love to share our work and practices with you – please visit our website www.openstudiosfife.co.uk to find your favourite artists and some new favourites.

“Most importantly, the website will also direct you to ‘Open Studios North Fife Virtual Hub’, where you can continue your journey to artists social media pages and websites.”

Events will be running from 10am-5pm.
