Produce has been donated by local farms, while a village swap shop has been set up, with books, games, magazines and more free for people to take.

The shelter, in Arncroach, has been hailed as a great example of community spirit.

“Arncroach’s bus shelter has been a thing of wonder for some time, as the Community Development Trust decorates it for seasons and festivals such as Halloween and Christmas,” said local councillor Linda Holt.

“Now it’s become a swap-shop and collection point for essential supplies. It’s a hugely cheering sight in these bleak times, testifying to the warmth and strength of the community in Arncroach and Carnbee.”
