At its launch, the directory features 21 films productions, including feature films, short films and documentaries.

The initial directory has been compiled by Gavin Hugh of Kirkcaldy-based video business, MidgieBite Media, with help from Niki Paterson, who updated the website to include the directory.

The filmmaker hopes to grow this over time to help celebrate local film production and provide a resource for anyone interested in Fife filmmaking.

Gavin Hugh said: “There have been a number of fantastic film productions from Fife filmmakers including, features, shorts, documentaries, web series, and so much more.

“However, to the best of our knowledge, these have never been properly documented in a single resource. Trying to find out about local films has often been dependent on word of mouth, which can give the false impression that few films have been made here. That couldn’t be further from the truth, and this archive is aimed at dispelling that myth.

“The directory we have now is only the tip of the iceberg. We want to develop this over time, celebrating the breadth of talent that lives in Fife as well as inspiring new filmmakers to develop their craft and tell their own stories.”

As well as the new directory, the network's website has seen the addition of a new ‘Resources’ page for local filmmakers to access further support and opportunities.

The Creative Film Fife Network is also actively seeking the support of volunteers to help with growing the directory, with anyone who is wishing to submit their own creative films for inclusion is also encouraged to get in touch.

The directory launches on the same week MidgieBite Media has released a new trailer for it's upcoming documentary project, 'Our Lockdown'.

'Our Lockdown' is a documentary film project exploring Scotland's lockdown through the eyes of those who lived it, with contributors submitting video clips and photos which are being compiled into a unique film project.
