Fife folk group's welcome boost for VRN hospital radio
A Fife folk group has given a local hospital radio station a welcome cash boost.
After 8 Mince donated £300 to the Victoria Radio Network recently.

The musicians, who came together in 2003, have been raising money through their gigs for a whole host of local charities.
Originally there were eight members of the group, who were all members of Dalgety Bay Folk Club, and they chose their name as they started their concerts at 8pm.

Over the years After 8 Mince have raised over £30,000 for a wide range of charities including Guide Dogs, Maggie’s, the RNLI and Seescape.
Their latest fundraising efforts have kindly been donated to the hospital radio station and the team of volunteers who run VRN are extremely grateful for the donation.
A spokesperson for Victoria Radio Network said the station relies on funding from donations to allow it to continue its work.
They said: “The hospital radio station is run entirely by volunteers and has no paid employees. The upkeep of the station is funded by membership fees and fundraising events by the members, and we also benefit from donations such as this.
"Hospital radio aims to offer patients, staff and visitors a serotonin boost from the friendly voices of their presenters with the brightness that is music.
"Listening to music can benefit every one of us in many ways and the presenters try to play a large variety of music, including those long forgotten tunes familiar to the elderly, especially those with dementia.
"Our thanks go to the group After 8 Mince and those that supported the concert held in the Compass restaurant in Dalgety Bay. This has helped Victoria Radio Network, hospital radio in Fife continue broadcasting to the patients, staff, relatives and care homes throughout Fife.”
