Fife launches campaign to recruit more foster carers for teenagers

It’s a key priority to give vulnerable young people with the support and stability they need.

It comes as new legislation allows young people to stay with their former foster carers up to the age of 21,

Councillor Craig Walker, convener of the council’s education and children's services sub committee said: “Fostering services throughout Scotland are struggling to find enough foster carers for teenagers.

“We are launching the ‘Could you foster a Teenager?’ campaign to appeal for more people who could offer teenagers a safe and secure home - somewhere they can find their feet, build their self-confidence and become more independent."Mr Walker added: “We need people to help us prevent teenagers having to live far from their families, friends and schools and being split up from their sisters and brothers.
