Daniel Elder founded the campaign with three friends dotted around Britain three weeks ago.

The co-founders, who have a big following on social media, are restoring trainers and donating them to local charities and organisations, aimed at making sure those in need have warm feet, look good and gain confidence.

The four met online through their mutual passion for collecting Adidas trainers and have amassed a number of contacts in the industry through the years.

After helping a mutual friend that had fallen on hard times, Daniel realised the need for good quality footwear for the homeless and decided that he had the time to dedicate himself to the venture.

Hundreds of trainers have already been donated to the project, and Daniel has been in contact with several Fife groups to donate them to those in need.

"The trainers are deep cleaned, restored, wrapped up and given to people who need them,” said Daniel.

"I know there are a lot of people in Fife without trainers and with cold feet. We want people to look good and feel good.

"A friend lost his job, his house and his relationship. He was in a homeless hostel and someone handed him a pair of trainers. It changed his outlook.

"He now has a stable job, a roof over his head and a beautiful girlfriend. If a pair of trainers can change his attitude and help change his life, it’s something worth doing.

"When you buy new clothes, you look in the mirror and think ‘I look good’. We want other people to feel that vibe as well.”

Many designer label clothes have also been sent in. These will be raffled off to raise money, 100 percent of which will be placed into a community fund to help people pay for essentials when moving into a new hostel or temporary accommodation.

The group has also had support from big names, including Line of Duty and This is England star Vicky McClure.

Thousands of people have also been following the project through social media.
