James Yule (81) devised his ‘couch to 5k’ athletic effort as a way to raise funds.

Every day for the last eight weeks James walked or jogged round his garden, sponsored by a growing number of donors.

At the end of May, James race was run and he crossed the finishing line having raised a total of £1195.

“I feel very grateful and inspired by your encouragement, support and, of course, your financial donations,” James said.

James originally posted a video of his route on Facebook, when friends suggested sponsoring him to raise funds for a charity of his choice.

Cash donations are still being received so James will consider where the donations will be going, and has in mind Fife Carers and Food For Fife.

James would welcome more donations. They can be made through the www.gofundme.com website.
