Fife singer's 'experience of lifetime' on The Voice despite judges not turning

A young Fife singer has spoken of her ‘experience of a lifetime’ following her appearance on ITV talent show ‘The Voice’.

Unfortunately, JUŁIA, who formerly performed as Julia Rose, failed to be selected in her blind audition by any of the judges, which included American rap artist and producer Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, singer Anne-Marie and former X-factor runner up Olly Murs.

The judges praised the 19-year-old’s performance., broadcast on Saturday night, but they felt her nerves played a big part in their decision not to take her forward to the next round of the show.

She said: “The whole experience was just surreal.

"I was definitely nervous but I am still happy I did it and got that far.

"I am so thankful for the opportunity. I tried not to think of the judges as legends and thought that they were once just the same as me, I had that in my head.

"One of the judges said they could hear there was something there and it was definitely just my nerves which got in the way, which I appreciated.

"The feedback has been amazing from everyone and the support I have had has been fantastic.”

She said the show was very different this year due to restrictions in the pandemic:

“You were not only following the rules of The Voice but also having to follow the rules and restrictions because of the pandemic. It was filmed in October, and it was the experience of a lifetime - I would definitely recommend it.”

JUŁIA, from Kinghorn, said she hopes this is just the start of good things happening in her career.

She has two new singles due to be released soon as well as streaming live performances.

"I have two new singles and I’m working on one of them just now. They will hopefully be out in the next couple of months and I am very excited to release them, I have waited a long time. The first one is called ‘Mine’ and the second one is called ‘Art’.”

She added: “ I just want to thank everyone who has supported me. Although I didn’t get the outcome I wanted, I am still so grateful for the opportunity I was given.”
