Fife village’s plans to revamp historic red telephone box
Traditional red telephone boxes may be disappearing from the landscape - but one Fife community is giving theirs a make-over.
North Queensferry Heritage Trust has applied to Fife Council to turn the village’s phone box into an information point. The trust’s plans for the phone box on Main Street include re-painting it, picking out the crown motifs in gold, cleaning and re-sealing the window panes, and adding shelving and brochure holders. The trust also wants to tell the history of K6 phone boxes which date to the 1930s.
