Fife village’s plans to revamp historic red telephone box

Traditional red telephone boxes may be disappearing from the landscape - but one Fife community is giving theirs a make-over.

North Queensferry Heritage Trust has applied to Fife Council to turn the village’s phone box into an information point.The trust’s plans for the phone box on Main Street include re-painting it, picking out the crown motifs in gold, cleaning and re-sealing the window panes, and adding shelving and brochure holders.The trust also wants to tell the history of K6 phone boxes which date to the 1930s.
