Fifers in charity stomp to raise cash for mental health

Fife Council’s Active Communities Team along with several Community Sports Hubs took part in SAMH Virtual Stomp 2020 for World Mental Health Day last week.

They climbed stairs to help the event normally held at Murrayfield Stadium each year. This year it was held virtually.

It saw participants completing their target number of steps at a staircase local to them.

The Active Communities team headed to Central Park, Cowdenbeath, where they spread across the terraces, notching up a total of 60,000 steps and £500 raised.

Ross Taylor, community sports hub officer said: “There are plenty of opportunities to become physically active and meet new people through our network, and we would encourage anyone to reach out to us or their local group directly to find out more."

Burntisland & Kinghorn CSH, led by Ross Ives from Kinghorn Canoe club completed over 50,000 steps at Kinghorn lifeboat station.
