Fifers invited to join the Big Sporty Quiz for CHAS
Famous faces from the world of sport are backing the latest virtual fundraiser to be hosted by CHAS which takes place next week.
The charity – Children’s Hospices Across Scotland – is hosting the Big Sporty Quiz on Friday, August 28 with questions being asked by sporting legends including Frank McAvennie and Liz McColgan.
Broadcaster David Tanner is host for the evening and will be putting everyone’s sporting knowledge to the test over seven rounds on a range of topics including football history, rugby, tennis and golf.
This latest virtual fundraising quiz follows the Big Girly Quiz and the Big Geeky Quiz held to raise vital cash for the charity in recent months.
CHAS has had to adapt to new ways of fundraising like other charities because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Other sporting personalities posing questions next week include Scottish rugby stars, Jonny Gray and Stuart McInally; three-time Olympian, Hannah Miley; footballer, Lizzie Arnot; Scotland Women’s Football Manager, Shelley Kerr; ex-Scotland rugby player, Kenny Logan and his TV presenter wife, Gabby Logan.
Line of Duty star, Martin Compston, who is a former professional Scottish footballer, will also be asking a question on the night from his home in Las Vegas.
In addition to the quiz, there will also be a raffle and an online auction with prizes to be won including a signed Scotland rugby shirt, a signed Scotland rugby ball, a top signed by both Chris Hoy and Adam Peaty, an Auchentoshan Distillery tour, two premiership hospitality match tickets and a two-night golf trip to Aberdeen plus many more.
Emma Moore, CHAS Community Fundraiser and quiz organiser, said: “We are so grateful to all the amazing stars for giving up their time so generously to support our Big Sporty Quiz especially to our event host, David Tanner, who has over 20 years of experience in broadcasting.
“We would also like to say a huge thank you to all our fantastic sponsors who have donated some truly incredible prizes.
“The Big Sporty Quiz is shaping up to be a fantastic fun event and we hope as many people join us as possible on the night.
"By taking part, you’ll not only have a fun night, you will also be helping CHAS continue its work keeping the joy alive for some of Scotland’s most vulnerable children and their families.”
