Fifers urged to eat fish and chips and support the RNLI

Fifers are being encouraged to enjoy fish and chips with their friends and raise funds for the RNLI.

October marks the start of the RNLI’s ‘Fish Supper’ campaign which asks you to spare a thought (and a few pounds) for the charity’s volunteer lifeboat crews who often have to leave dinner on the table, to respond to an emergency at the sound of their pager.

The RNLI’s annual fundraiser encourages people to host a fish supper between October 9-25 and invite their family and friends round to enjoy the evening, with donations being made in support of the lifesaving charity.

However, with restrictions in place due to Covid-19, this year’s fish supper events may be a bit different. The RNLI is encouraging people to host their fish suppers online this year, if they can not be held in person.

If you fancy rustling up a three-course meal or just a fish finger sandwich, the money you raise will help save lives at sea.
