Free online family workshops to brighten up winter months in Fife

Greener Kirkcaldy has partnered with Fife based educators, Wild Planet Explorers and Hamespun Tales to deliver free online family workshops to bring much-needed cheer to the dreich winter months.

The sessions are suitable for kids of all ages and each event has a sustainability or conservation theme. These events are free and families should book online at www.greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk/eventsThe first is Deepa the Dolphin taking place on Thursday, January 14 at 4.15pm. This live online, educational, interactive and active workshop explores the amazing lives of dolphins and how people can help them and other marine life.

The second is Hamespun Tales Storytelling #1 on Saturday, January 23 at 11:00am. Fifers are invited to hear the Scottish folktale The King's Tailor, followed by a Welsh story, Slops. These fresh and fun stories will have plenty of opportunity for locals to join in, have a giggle and help the story along.While Hamespun Tales Storytelling #2 takes place on Sunday, February 7 at 11:00am. People can discover the magic of traditional storytelling as Fife storyteller Sheila Kinninmonth tells the story of Mikku and the Trees from Estonia, followed by a Chinese tale, The Mirror of Truth.Craig Leitch, Greener Kirkcaldy development worker, said: “After such a tough year, we wanted to start 2021 with something fun for the whole family to enjoy.
