Growing support for Leven 100ft whale sculptures project
The proposals were revealed last year, and since then a team of volunteers have been working hard to make the first steps and drum up support.
More than 200 people have now signed a petition showing their backing for the project.

Hide AdIt is hoped that, with the £75 million rail project on track and plans to renovate the River Leven moving forward, the whale sculptures and the pier could attract tourists from around the world, like the Kelpies in Falkirk.
Last weekend, the project team attended the summer market in Methil – the first big event in the area since the lockdown eased – to talk about the plans.
“We were taken aback by folk’s enthusiasm for the whales,” said project chairman, Eugene Clarke. “They were a real hit, catching the imagination of young and old.
“The project is going great guns. We’ve got our application in with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator to become a registered charity and we’re looking for funding for a feasibility study.
