The Hope Campus is the home of Fife Today’s community church which aims to offer a range of services under the one roof to help those less fortunate in the town, as well as providing a general community hub.

Hope Campus, at Unit 1, Hayfield Business Park, Hayfield Place, is looking to offer: the Joyful Independent Foodbank, a community fridge, the Edge independent coffee house, a mental health well-being centre, a Christians Against Poverty Centre, a conference centre, meeting room, training centre and a homeless outreach centre.

Pastor Jolly said: “I worked with the homeless in England plus I’ve been short of food myself. I’ve got a very big heart for helping people in need, and I know that there’s a need for more community support centres in Fife so that is why I established the Hope Campus.

"We are offering a range of services including the Joyful Independent Food bank and a homeless outreach centre where the homeless can come in once a week for a shower/wash, receive a fresh pair of clothes and have free breakfasts once a week.

"We will also offer three course meals for the elderly for £2.50 once a week and coffee mornings.”

Pastor Jolly said anyone can come along to collect a food parcel from the new foodbank, which opened on Tuesday and people don’t need a referral.

He said: “We will offer tins and some fridge stuff like cooked meats, breakfast cereal, bread and baby food, plus toiletries and nappy’s baby wipes.

"The foodbank is open on Tuesdays and Fridays so we can only offer four days supply.

“We are hoping to be able to offer items with help from the church and donations along with and sponsored event and local businesses.”

It is also looking for donations of clothes, hats, gloves, socks, sleeping bags, blankets and small one man tents.

The foodbank is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2-4.30pm.
