The first crosses were placed in the grass next to Kirkcaldy’s War Memorial after a short welcome, held at the adjacent Kirkcaldy Galleries.
The garden was launched as PoppyScotland marked its centenary, and followed on from similar initiatives in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness.
The crosses honour those named on the war memorial.
Families can add their own crosses, available from the galleries or via https://www.poppyscotland.org.uk/
The garden has been organised by the Kirkcaldy branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland.
