Hannah McGowan set up a system that allowed for a 24-hour service for prescriptions, when most other pharmacies were operating a ten-day turnaround.

That has led to her being nominated for Proud to be Asda 2020 ‘Most Innovative Colleague’ award.

Hannah’s innovative efforts ensured customers had the support they needed – at one point, she even hand delivered a prescription to local taxi driver Bill Convery after he contracted coronavirus.

Stephen Gallagher, Asda Kirkcaldy general store manager said: “"Hannah lives by our values consistently and her clever thinking really made a difference to people’s lives during the pandemic.

“She is a well-respected colleague in store and is much loved by both colleagues and customers alike.”

The ‘Proud to be Asda’ 2020 awards were created to acknowledge the incredible efforts of so many who make their fellow colleagues truly proud to work for Asda.
