"This almost came off at the start of the year with a podcast project that would focus on the history of Kirkcaldy, but then in March everything changed and I was furloughed from work and lucky to still even have a job never mind a podcast."

Michael adds that as the centre’s operations are slowly returning to normal his dream of creating a community podcast are finally being realised.

He said: “Now that Linton Lane is starting to get slowly back on its feet the centre manager, Mandy Henderson, secured some Lottery funding and asked if I would like to go ahead with the project that I had planned before lockdown.

"The podcast that we are doing is called ‘Down the Lane With’ and is intended to provide a platform for charities and services in the Kirkcaldy and Fife area as well as interviews with local people who may be doing something that local people may find interesting.

"The first episode is presented by myself but I am also going to be using other presenters in upcoming episodes including Marion McPherson who has a background in research, and has done an incredible amount of volunteering at the centre and is also the one who came up with the name for the show.

“Our plan is to have a new programme up on our website every Friday, so If anyone has a community interest that they would like to have featured then please get in touch via the Linton Lane website.”
