Alan, accompanied by his cat Tom, would stream live shows on Facebook for three hours every Friday and Saturday night to help people remain positive during the ongoing pandemic.

Alan said: “I am out of work because of covid, so I thought that I would do something to try to cheer people up and to make them happy whilst we were all in lockdown.

“I have never streamed anything before, so I did a few 10 minute test runs to see what it looked like and to make sure everything would run smoothly.

“Never did I imagine that my shows would be so popular.”

Alan started his career as a DJ when he was 15 at the under 18 club Bronx in Kirkcaldy.

Over the years, he has had a spot at some of the best nightclubs in Fife and Dundee - even bringing in the millennium for Radio Forth 2!

“I’m amazed at how many people enjoyed my shows, he said.

“I would start at seven and finish at 10, but Facebook would stop the show every 30 minutes because of copyright.

"It’d take me around 40 seconds to get back up and running again and I was always pleasantly surprised when everyone who was watching would still be there.

“I call my viewers ‘top shelf troops’ and I would play little games in the comment section with them to make things a little more interesting.

“It really has been brilliant, I have had people from all over the world watching the show, and people who have not seen each other in years have reconnected through the comment section.

“The last show was last Saturday, it definitely was a tearful moment for me, everyone was thanking me for what I had done.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I think that it would have the effect that it did - It was unbelievable.

“I really can’t thank the top shelf troops enough, I have tried to stay grounded, but I’m completely overawed with it all.”
