Kirkcaldy High Street’s market returns on Friday for the first time since lockdown.

Stall holders will set up along the High Street, all socially distanced, and organisers hope it will be a good response from the public.

The market was launched in November by businesswoman Louise Canny, she is relaunching it with a host of steps to ensure everyone stays safe.

Crowd barriers will be put in front of each stall to create one way systems, and most traders will operate contactless payment systems.

Every stall will supply hand sanitisers for customers - the organisers will have a central station for public use too.

Extra stewards in hi-vis jackets will be drafted in to help people adhere to distancing rules, and all traders have been asked to wear gloves and masks.

The stalls will also be more spread out along the High street where most shops remain closed.

The market runs from 9:00am until 5:00pm .

In a Facebook update, the organisers said: “There is easily more room on the the High Street to socially distance with the advantage of fresh air to get your weekly fresh produce than a busy supermarket.

Inevitably falling advertising revenues will start to have an impact on local newspapers and the way we continue to work during this period of uncertainty.
