John Duncan had a printer's shop in the High Street.

Bailie William Grieve was the owner of a stationer's shop in Whytescauseway.
He was convenor of the Gas Committee when the new gasometer was inaugurated in Links Street.

It is situated opposite Pathhead Primary School where John Christie was headmaster.
