The annual event, which runs from September 21-25, is dedicated to bringing people together over a cuppa to raise vital funds for the cancer charity.

David took to social media recently to #RaiseAMug in support for the 250,000 people in Scotland living with cancer.Every 90 seconds someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer and Macmillan is doing everything it can to provide vital emotional, financial or clinical support for people living with cancer who are going through a challenging time.He said this year is more important than ever to support Macmillan’s flagship coffee morning - one of the UK’s longest-running fundraising events - as due to coronavirus, the event is facing a staggering 71% income drop of £20 million.

The charity is almost entirely funded by donations and it is calling on the public to help raise vital funds this year.

Locals can get involved this September in several ways:1. Host a virtual coffee morning. Sign up at macmillan.org.uk/coffee or by searching Macmillan Coffee Morning. Share pictures of your event on social media using #MacmillanCoffeeMorning and #RaiseAMug

2. Donate by raising a mug. Simply upload a selfie and message to the wall, make a donation and share your support for people living with cancer. Donate at raiseamug.macmillan.org.uk/

3. Run, walk or cycle for Coffee Morning. Take on a personal challenge for coffee morning to raise money. Sign up at cmchallenge.macmillan.org.uk/
