The people of Kirkcaldy turned out to pay their final respects to Jimmy Sinclair, the Kirkcaldy WW2 veteran who passed away last week aged 107.

While the lockdown restricted many from attending the funeral itself, a number of people arrived at Kirkcaldy Town Square and observed social distancing rules as the hearse drew up to the town house. The Last Post was played as a those who had gathered remembered Jimmy.

The hearse then made its way up to Kirkcaldy Crematorium, with many friends and wellwishers stood along the route, many holding Saltires, flags or banners in memory of Jimmy, who was a staunch believer in Scottish Independence.

While it was undoubtedly a sad loss for everyone, the mood remained relatively jovial in celebration of Jimmy’s life.
