Kirkcaldy photographer captures stunning shots of the Lang Toun from above

Paul Adams, an amatuer photographer and fire alarm engineer, started taking the aerial shots after purchasing the drone two months ago.

Paul said: “I always fancied getting a drone to take shots of Fife from above, so far I have taken shots around Kirkcaldy and the surrounding areas, and when lockdown is over I’m looking forward to getting more of Scotland.

"I have captured some truly amazing photos, and before we went into lockdown again I managed to take one of the Tay Bridge from Wormit.

"Fife is great to photograph as it is so beautiful with many different places to shoot.”

Paul adds that his drone is easy to fly and has transformed the way he takes pictures.

"My drone weighs only 100 grams and is really easy to fly,” he added. “You have to register with the UK Civil Aviation Authority to be able to fly a drone and pass a simple theory test to get a flyer ID.

"I’ve also recently passed an advanced test to allow me to use my drone for commercial purposes if I wish.

"It is such a good piece of kit, it has a return to home function where if I ever lose sight of it all I need to do is push the return home button and it will automatically return to where it took off from.

"It’s also GPS locked from multiple satellites, meaning that it will stop if it were to stray into restricted airspace – I’ve had many a good day taking pictures of Fife with it.”
