Public buildings across Fife are set to close for one day next week.

Libraries, theatres, galleries and museums run by OnFife will be shut on Wednesday, January 17 for an all-staff development day.

Heather Stuart, chief executive of the cultural trust, said: “To continue to provide great services to the public, staff development and team working are essential. Our staff are spread over around 40 venues across the whole of Fife and this is the first opportunity we’ve had since 2018 to bring everyone together. January is our quietest time of the year and we chose this date and day of the week to minimise impact on community services. We have also been doing everything we can to make sure all our customers are aware in advance, including giving information on where to find alternative free access to public PCs.”

The trust has already confirmed the Adam Smith Theatre will be closed until January 23 to focus on snagging issues after its recent £7.m renovation.
