The Kirkcaldy-based cancer care centre is urging local people to dress up as elves and walk, run, skip, hop - or even cartwheel - around a route of their choice.

It can be anything from 3k to 10k.

The aim is to help raise vital funds to support the work of the centre.

The elf fun run takes place on December 6 and is free to register in return for raising a minimum of £50 per elf - or £150 for a family of elves!

And Smith Anderson Group Limited has generously pledged to match all funds raised through this campaign.

Adam Kent, centre fundraising manager, said: “Knowing that so many of our traditional activities wouldn’t be able to go ahead this year due to COVID restrictions was a real worry, so we’re excited to be able to do something a bit different with our Elf Family Fun Run.

“As it’s a virtual format, it means that the community can still get in the festive spirit and raise money for Maggie’s Fife, whilst keeping themselves safe within social distancing guidelines.” The event allows elves to choose their own distance and route- and the emphasis is on family fun.

Maggie’s has created a dedicated Facebook page to bring all participants together.

It also has details on how to download your running number and also a scavenger hunt for children to do and have fun.
