A man has died 24 hours after being struck by a car on a Fife road.

The incident happened around 10.20pm on Monday near the roundabout junction with the B981 North Road near Inverkeithing.

Police confirmed this morning that the 36-year old pedestrian had died at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on Tuesday.

He had been struck by a Suzuki Celerio car. The 63-year-old driver was uninjured.

Sergeant Alastair Purvis of the Road Policing Unit in Glenrothes said: "Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this difficult time."Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information or dashcam footage who has not yet spoken to police to make contact.”"Contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 4071 of 20 April.
