Hide AdPete’s Man Chat has started weekly Zoom calls in place of its regular meetings at the Buffalo Farm’s Bothy on Boglily Road, Kirkcaldy.
The group was launched by Pete Melville (35), after he noticed a rise in mental health issues amongst men.
The stockman at Buffalo Farm started the group after helping some of his own friends through tough times.

Pete said: “Obviously we can’t meet in person now so we have been meeting at the same time every Sunday on the video call platform, Zoom.
“It is working out great but we can’t really get into the nitty-gritty of it all because the guys might have somebody else in the house with them and are maybe a little bit uncomfortable talking about their feelings.

“In the three months leading up to lockdown, Pete’s Man Chat Movement has helped several members combat their mental health issues.
Pete said: “One guy’s issues were so severe that he couldn’t come to the group. After attending a few sessions he was a completely different person.

“What I’m aiming to do is to have a blueprint for a group that works so we can start others elsewhere - maybe one for older or younger guys or even for women, it doesn’t have to be all about men.”
With lockdown conditions continuing, Pete is urging anyone who may need support or just a friendly face to chat with to join in.

“I know that it can be awkward for someone new to join a group that is conducted via video calls, but I feel that it is a good soft start for anyone thinking about coming along when lockdown is lifted.
“I do have a few ideas on how we can keep the group going outdoors once restrictions are eased, and I would also like to collaborate with other organisations to make it easier for people to get access to help or support as mental health touches all aspects of life.”
